  I had the terrible experience of having to have my cat put to sleep because her kidneys were rapidly failing. I took her to Alpine in Hood River, a place I'd never been to before, and was terrified that it was going to be an ugly process and that my cat might suffer. The doctor who was to administer the drug which would put my cat to sleep was Dr. Daphne Johnson, and she was really amazing. I was trying not to be an emotional wreck, but Dr. Johnson was very kind and did a great job telling me the process while being as gentle with Nala as possible. It was one of the hardest days I've had in a long time and although it was hard to say goodbye, I'm so glad I took her to Alpine where the staff cares for animals right until their last breath. Thank you Alpine and thank you Daphne.

  I went to Alpine for the first time on a Saturday morning when my dog gashed his leg wide open. My normal vet was closed as it was a holiday, but Alpine in Hood River was open. The receptionist was a little reticent as I was calling 10 minutes before they closed for a long weekend, but she understood the nature of the injury and told me to come in. Daphne was the vet that day. Everyone did an amazing job! From the receptionist, the vet techs and of course Daphne the rock star vet. They car about the animals- isn't that the first priority? The car was fantastic, the sutures and post care follow up were just as good. Thanks Alpine!
